To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Monster, Ducati released limited special editions of the 696, 796, and 1100 EVO. Each bike got a special cosmetic package including the original red livery with a bronze frame, 90s style mirrors, and the Ducati font from 1986 on the tank and seat cowl.
Additional cosmetic changes included gold brake calipers/front disc carriers – the 1100 also got gold brake/clutch master cylinders.
Ducati also adorned the model with champagne colored fork bodies and a custom seat with “1993 Monster-style fabric.”
Just 200 examples were built.
This example (VIN: ZDM1RARR6DB068545) is #136 of 200.
The seller acquired it about a year and a half ago from the original owner, a private party in Long Island, New York. “I was a travel nurse helping out in New York City at the height of the pandemic and found the bike on Craigslist. I had always wanted a Ducati Monster and I was sick of taking the subway so I purchased the bike and rode it back to Brooklyn.” During his ownership, the seller has covered roughly 1,000 miles. The odometer shows 2,497 miles.
520 chain conversion (-1 front sprocket, +2 rear sprocket).
Ducabike axle and sprocket bolts.
CNC Racing rearsets.
Ducabike oil filler plug.
Aftermarket levers and lever guards.
Not pictured are a “Duc-E servo eliminator and a re-programmed (richened) fuel curve by Tom Hall Ducati in Phoenix, Arizona.”
Cosmetic Blemishes:
Per the seller, the sole blemish is a “slight tear to the seat near the gas tank.”
The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues. It received an oil and filter change 300 miles ago. He is letting it go as he “will be traveling as a COVID relief nurse for the foreseeable future around the country and taking the bike with me everywhere I go it’s just not feasible.”
Currently located in Glendale, Arizona, this Ducati is offered on a clean Arizona (paperless) title.
