For the 2011 model year, KTM addressed some of the initial criticisms (harsh throttle response and poor fueling) levied at the impressive RC8. The updates were significant enough that the Austrian firm tacked on a “R” to the evolution, now called the RC8R.i
Some of the updates included twin spark cylinder heads, revised cam timing, and a heavier flywheel. KTM claimed 175 horsepower at the crank.
One thing people new to the model are typically surprised to learn is how adjustable the ergonomics are. Remember that this machine initially came out over a decade ago, yet it featured adjustable footpegs, clipons (height/angle), levers, pedals, and even the subframe (which provides almost an inch of adjustability in the seat height). No one’s going to confuse this for a touring bike, but as Motorcycle.com put it, “with the clip-ons in their high setting, visions of a 500-mile day seem possible.”
This example is VIN: VBKVR9401DM991183.
The odometer shows 953 miles.
It has new Michelin Road 5 tires.
It is highly original – the only modification we see is a modified seat with extra padding. Our White Glove service may be able to track down a stock replacement if the next owner desires.
Our White Glove service will flush the hydraulic fluids and change the oil before the bike is picked up or delivered. We note that there is a slight weep from the left fork seal.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this KTM is offered on a clean California title with registration current through September 2021.
