Since 2005, KTM has lead the charge in the 4-stroke dirtbike market, consistently advancing the segment by way of its distinctive design choices and revolutionary performance innovations.
In keeping with the trend, KTM’s 2013 250 SX-F was no different; it boasted many features that were otherwise not available for the 250 class. For instance, the Austrian brand updated their signature “Keihin engine management system.” In practice, this meant that the new 44mm throttle body port allowed for increased air flow, while the updated head’s twin overhead camshafts and DLC-coated cam followers bumped the rev range from 13,400/min up to 14,000/min.
What’s more, KTM looked to save weight with the 250 SX-F in whatever way possible. So, along with ditching the bulk of the kickstarter in favor of an electric-only start, they also manufactured the engine through a new die-casting process — rather than the usual sand-casting — allowing for significantly thinner (and thus lighter) casing walls.
In the words of Motocross Action Mag: “The 250SXF will hit any corner on a track. The bike sticks like glue, even on hardpack flat turns. It’s confidence inspiring.”
This example is VIN: VBKMXJ438DM191719. The seller is the 3rd owner, he reports that “both the first owner and myself barely used the bike. The second owner meticulously maintained this bike for trail riding with his son who has since gone away to college.”
Because there is no odometer, true mileage is unknown. The seller estimates that there are approximately 25-50 hours on the bike.
