In 2013, Suzuki celebrated the milestone of building 1,000,000 Gixxers by releasing a “Commemorative Edition” of the GSX-R1000. Production was capped at 1,985 examples, because that was the year the legendary model debuted.
According to Suzuki, differences from the standard bike included:
Unique wheel stripes.
Red shock spring.
Red anodized front fork caps, gold fork tubes.
Black Brembo calipers with red lettering.
Serial plate on fork bracket – this is #757 of 1,985.
This example is VIN: JS1GT78A1D2101175, Engine #: T717-122007.
The seller purchased it new from Suzuki of Winston Salem in Winston-Salem, North Carolina on January 18th, 2013. It was the only Commemorative Edition that specific dealership received. “The bike was removed from shipping crate and taken to my living room, where it has been for the last 8 years. Never ridden, never serviced, never rained on, never down, like it came from never-never land. This would be the perfect bike for a collector looking for the best example GSXR, stock, original, best condition and lowest mileage.”
The sale includes the original tool kit and passenger seat.
The seller is letting it go as he has “too many toys in my collection and no family members with interest to carry on my passion for motorcycles.” He states that there are no cosmetic issues and that he’s never attempted to start it.
Currently located in Mount Airy, North Carolina, this Suzuki is offered on a clean North Carolina title.
