2013 Triumph Trophy SE

$4,815

In 2008, Triumph started working on a flagship touring motorcycle to compete specifically against BMW’s RT series. Five years later, they debuted the Trophy 1200 SE – what Cycle World called “by far the most complex motorcycle that reborn Triumph has ever produced…a luxury sport-tourer.”

It had all the features one would want to cover miles at speed and in comfort: ABS, traction control, linked brakes, cruise control, tire-pressure monitors, electrically-adjustable windscreen/headlights/suspension, Bluetooth sound system, adjustable seat height, shaft drive, and 31 liter removable saddlebags.

Motivation was provided by a 1,215cc ride-by-wire triple producing 132 hp and a stout 89 ft-lb of torque. CW concluded their review with, “Triumph has set the MSRP for the SE at $18,999. On one hand, that’s a pretty tall stack of money. But when you assess all you get on a motorcycle that can do what the Trophy SE can do, 19 Large seems like a bargain.”

Manufactured in February of 2013, this example is VIN: SMTH02XK6DJ589045. The seller purchased the bike in 2016 from Triumph Newport Beach.

During his ownership, the seller has covered roughly 16,000 miles. The odometer shows 32,377 miles.

Purchased bike in 2016 as I was looking for something to do some real touring on. After evaluating a few different options, I purchased this bike. Despite it’s size, it is a wonderfully handling bike, and the range is exceptional. Having owned a few Triumph’s prior to this one I loved the idea of sticking with a triple. I have taken this bike up the CA coast numerous times, and some of my favorite motorcycling stories are tied to trips taken on this bike. That said, it is time for me to move on from this one and I hope the next rider is able to pile the miles on in comfort like I have for nearly 10 years!

Maintenance:
All maintenance at Southern California Motorcycles in Brea or Mickey Cohen Motorsports in Placentia. At one point I had a file of all maintenance history since I purchased in 2016, unfortunately I am unable to locate that file now so no records available at this time.”
