BMW originally debuted its HP – short for ‘High Performance’ – designation in 2005 with a series of HP2 models built around the venerable boxer twin. However, the Bavarian firm kicked things up a notch with the introduction of the HP4 in 2013.

Based on the already impressive S1000RR, it featured performance upgrades as far as the eye could see. Along with carbon fiber bodywork and forged wheels, it also boasted a lighter sprocket carrier, a titanium exhaust, and even a weight-saving battery. On the road, this meant that it was the lightest four-cylinder supersport in its class, tipping the scales at just 373 lbs dry.

And here’s the thing; the HP4 wasn’t wanting for power. On the contrary — the 999cc inline-four was good for some 193 horses and 83lb-ft of torque. When coupled to a six-speed gearbox and a specially-designed Akrapović exhaust, this translated to a 0-60mph time of 2.8 seconds and a top speed of 186mph.

Manufactured January 2014, this example is VIN: WB10D0105EZ465232. The seller says that he acquired the bike three months ago from a “motorbike enthusiast who had the Bike on display locked in a massive glass cabinet. He said he started it once a week and I have continued with this practice.” He is letting it go as “my priorities have changed. I was planning to get my bike license but this won’t be happening now hence need to sell the bike.”

It is number 3,538 of the production run.

The odometer shows 670 kilometers (416 miles).

Maintenance:
The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues. “The bike is restricted to 8000 rpm which is standard practice for a new BMW running in. At 1000 kms the bike goes into the service centre and the limiter is removed along with a full service, again standard practice for bikes just being ran in.”
It is riding on the original Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires with date codes of 2513 and 3513.

I have the complete set of books, owners manuals service logs, alarm instruction booklets. I x Key, 1 x Service Key, Fully Moulded Race Cover, 2 x BMW alarm remotes.”
