In 2014, Ducati took its already-impressive Panigale 1199 and decided to get a little crazy. The name of Superleggera, Italian for Superlight, summarizes the concept simply enough: more power and less weight.
The base Panigale was no porker at 367 pounds dry, but Ducati bestowed the Superleggera with a magnesium frame, forged magnesium wheels, carbon fiber rear subframe, carbon fiber bodywork, full titanium exhaust, titanium bolts/fasteners, and a lithium-ion battery. They even shaved weight in the engine with titanium exhaust valves to complement the titanium connecting rods and intake valves already present on the base bike. Thanks to all of these changes, the Superleggera weighed just 341.7 pounds dry (390.2 pounds wet)!
In addition to the titanium exhaust valves, the Superquadro motor in the Superleggera had two-ring pistons, a new piston crown, and a lighter crankshaft. This meant a peak power output of over 200 horsepower, and that gave the Superleggera the crown of best power-to-weight ratio of any production motorcycle when it was built.
Brembo was tasked with the brakes – M50 Monoblocks with a 19.21 MCS radial master cylinder – while Ohlins handled the suspension: FL916 forks and a TTX36 shock (with a titanium spring for less weight, of course).
The Superleggera also came with a Race Kit, which included a titanium Akrapovic exhaust, taller race windscreen, dust cover, front and rear stands, mirror fill-in caps, and block-off plates for the license plate and sidestand.
Manufactured in April of 2014, this example is VIN: ZDM14BVW1EB021053. The seller acquired it two years ago from “a Ducati enthusiast and collector in Los Angeles.”

“I purchased this bike to be the perfect matched bookend for my Ducati D16RR Desmosedici and enjoyed having both bikes together. I tracked the Desmosedici and the 1199 Superleggera was the centerpiece of my display collection. This bike was displayed in my climate controlled garage and was kept on a tender and routinely started, however, I never rode the bike during my ownership. I need to fund this awful Porsche Car racing habit I’ve picked up, so it’s time for a new owner to enjoy the 1199 Superleggera.”

“In preparation for the sale, I had the following accomplished within the past week with documentation from Apex Reparto Corse:

Clutch Fluid and System Flush
New Spark Plugs
New OEM Fuel Pump.”
The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues: “the bike is in excellent mechanical condition.”
Modifications:
“Zero – bike is 100% OEM as it came from the factory.” Please note that the Ducati race exhaust is currently installed on the bike with the race map.
Inside of the tank:
It is riding on the original Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tires that have aged out.
The sale includes two keys, the owner’s manual, tool kit, Shorai battery tender, Ducati Data Analyzer, and the front/rear stands.
Lastly, the sale includes everything that came with the race kit (mirror block offs, license plate block off) but the physical foam box that contained all the race kit parts is not included. As noted above, the race exhaust and race map are installed on the bike so the stock exhaust is pictured below. The carbon canister and exhaust valve are included in the sale as well.
