Kawasaki introduced the KFX450R ATV in 2008, and it was ahead of its time with a lightweight aluminum frame, a narrower front end, and fuel injection. At the initial press launch, ATV Riders said, “After a full day of riding and evaluating the KFX450R, I came to the conclusion that it is currently the best all-around 450cc production sport quad in stock form.”

Another standout feature was an integrated reverse, which was a first for a 450 sport quad. While the competition in the 450 sport quad market was focused on track riding, Kawasaki made their entry more friendly for trail riders. As ATV Illustrated put it, “the combination of quality features and components have created an ATV that we really love to ride. It is a nearly perfect trail weapon, and we have even raced it at a local XC race (won our class) and finished in the money at a local motocross… all in completely stock form and competing against ATVs in varying degrees of modification.”

The star of the show was the engine, which was based on the KX450F dirt bike. It featured a 3-ring forged piston, titanium valves, dual-overhead cams, compression release, and 32-bit fuel injection for consistent fueling. Claimed output was 43 horsepower and 31 ft-lb of torque.

Kawasaki also offered a Special Edition which was a cosmetics package with a distinct livery and black wheels.

Manufactured in June of 2013, this example is VIN: JKASFGB15EB520982. The seller is the second owner, he purchased it roughly a decade ago. He used it to navigate around on his farm (he had three other quads for utility work so this was utilized solely for transport).

There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown.

It is US and California emissions compliant.
