In 2008, BMW diversified their adventure bike lineup by adding the mid-sized parallel-twin F800GS alongside the flagship boxer R1200GS. It was a popular option for riders that wanted a more approachable way to explore on or off-road. The 798cc engine was good for 85 horsepower and 60 lb-ft of torque.
Five years later, they created an Adventure variant for riders that put a priority on long distance touring and more dedicated off-road riding.
Highlights of the “Adventure” upgrades include a larger (6.3 gallon) tank, spoked wheels (21″/17″), reinforced subframe, taller seat, taller windscreen, bigger hand guards, crash bars, wider foot pegs with rubber inserts, luggage rack, and a beefier skid plate.

“I bought it to start riding and I got injured before I could even ever ride it. I thought I would eventually but my back surgery was major and every doctor advised not to get on a bike so I have not. I bought this bike and never rode it or used it, I moved from NY and left in my friends garage and I just shipped it here.”
