2015 BMW R1200GS

$9,202

Upon its introduction in 1999, BMW’s R1150GS redefined the adventure bike category. By 2004, however, the model was beginning to show its age. In order to stay competitive, BMW had to give it an overhaul. What resulted was the R1200GS, a platform that weighed some 66lbs lighter than its predecessor with the added benefit of a further 19hp. Of course, BMW’s refinements didn’t end with the bike’s launch; over the years, the German motorcycle manufacturer continued to update the R1200GS.

In 2013, BMW debuted an all-new generation of their industry-defining GS series. After a 30+ year tradition of air/oil cooling, they moved to what’s become known as the “water boxer” engine, a liquid-cooled platform that boosted horsepower from 110 to 125, plus a healthy 92 lb-ft of torque.

For 2015, BMW gifted the R1200GS with a heavier crankshaft as well as an optional quick shifter and keyless ignition. Paint schemes for that year were Frozen Dark Blue Metallic and Black Storm Metallic.

This example is VIN: WB10A1102FZ188085. The seller purchased this bike five years ago from a private party in Burbank, California, a member of a riding group that Iconic frequently joins for our Sunday rides to the Rock Store.

During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 20,000 miles. The odometer shows 24,156 miles.

I sold an 2000 GS with 55k miles to upgrade to this newer 2015 GS bike. A riding buddy told me about his friend who was selling this 2015 GS. This gentleman had two new young children and was no longer riding. He had only put about 5k miles on the bike over 4 years. It was in his garage collecting dust. I bought the bike and had it serviced. It’s been a phenomenal and reliable bike as the BMW GS bikes are known for. I saved it from being a dust collector and recently purchased a 2022 BMW R1250GS in white, a change up from the black and gray 2015 GS.
