2011 marked the end of two-stroke world championships – the next year, Moto3 moved to four-strokes, and Honda’s first factory effort was the NSF250R. Rules capped bore size at 81mm, revs at 14,000 rpm, and valves at four. Honda called their NSF250R “A new racing machine for a new era: light, compact, high output, high performance.”
Claimed power? 48 ponies, which were plenty for the feather light dry weight of 180 pounds. Honda offered this racer in the US in 2012 with a MSRP of $28,599.
