New for 2014, the F3 800 was more than just an evolution of the F3 675 – Cycle World said, “The 800 simply feels like a completely different animal.” Some of this was due to refinements to the engine management software, but the bigger motor was less peaky and made more power (148 hp at the crank compared to 126). The 800 also got a stronger slipper clutch, taller final drive gearing, upgraded Brembo brakes, and stronger Marzocchi forks.
Alongside the base model, MV released an up-spec version — the F3 800 Ago — as a tribute to Giacomo Agostini. Just 300 examples were produced, and each one got treated to an upgraded traction control system, Bosch 9MP ABS, and lightweight forged aluminum wheels. MV Agusta also machined the levers, the counterweights, and footpegs from billet aluminum.
Rounding out the package was an eye-catching Italian paint scheme, carbon fenders, and some commemorative badging.
