Iconic Motorbikes is very excited about the newest edition to our gallery, this 2015 Pierobon X60R! Built using the very best components available and powered by Ducati’s charismatic and flexible air-cooled v-twin, the X60R is elegant and minimalist, the ultimate track day assassin or lightweight race bike.
Based around Pierobon’s lightweight aluminum F042 frame, this X60R is one of just 75 sold worldwide, and is fitted with an air-cooled, two-valve Ducati 1100DS motor bumped to 1200cc and producing 120rwhp and 81ft-lbs of torque on 110 octane race gas. Suspension is race-spec Öhlins front and rear, with Brembo brakes and Marchesini magnesium wheels. The complete package weighs in at a featherweight 312lbs with oil, a battery, and enough gas for a 9 lap sprint.
If you’re not familiar with Pierobon, they’re the frame building specialists of choice for Ducati. Located in Borgo Panigale, just around the corner from Ducati in Bolgona, Italy, the family-owned company has been supplying parts like frames, rider-specific tanks, rearsets, and other parts to Ducati’s World Superbike and MotoGP teams for decades.
But in addition to gorgeous components for racebikes, Pierobon also sells the X60R and X80R that accept Ducati’s air-cooled two-valve and liquid-cooled four-valve engines, respectively. The bikes can be purchased as complete machines or Pierobon will supply a frame, tank, and swingarm for you to complete yourself from their catalog of exquisitely-crafted parts.
After being successfully raced in 2015 and 2016, this example was comprehensively prepped for a new season by Boulder Motorsports. The X60R was priced at $70,000 new, depending on options.
This particular bike is available for $35,500 with a refreshed by high-spec engine by MotoCorse AND a second spare motor in the crate!
History of this particular machine from prior owner:
“I bought this at the end of the 2016 season from a friend who had won 4 different championships with it during the 2015 and 2016 seasons and decided he wanted to buy a Suter 500 to play with. I had Boulder Motor Sports (the US distributor) go through the bike completely and prep it for the 2017 season spending over $8k to do a full rebuild and prep, this type of prep makes it basically like new. Receipts available upon request.
I have only taken it out on a few track days so its ready for a full season of racing and more. If you’re just a track day junkie this will only need oil changes for years of track use. The spec motor Brian built is super durable. It comes with the rear stand and a extra rear sprocket for super short tracks. The gearing on it now works just about everywhere.
