Description

Additional photos of this 2015 Yamaha R1 are available here for your perusal.

After a hell of a challenge from BMW with the S1000RR, Yamaha took back the superbike crown in 2015 with an all-new R1. There were revisions across the board, but the highlights were the crossplane-crank engine and a class-leading electronics package.

As RideApart put it in their review, “the 2015 Yamaha YZF-R1 might be one of the most capable and advanced race bikes right out of the box ever widely offered to the general public..” In fact, the author of that review liked the R1 so much that he later bought one for himself – he’s the seller of this very bike!

This example is VIN: JYARN39Y0FA000713.

The seller acquired it in May 2018 from the original owner, a middle-aged woman in Burbank, California who used it exclusively on the street. Since then he’s covered approximately 3,000 miles. The odometer shows 15,639 miles.

Modifications:
Hotbodies ColorForm R1 track bodywork (with spare lower fairing).

R&G Racing engine covers.

Vortex V3 2.0 rearsets

Aftermarket frame sliders.

Steel braided brake lines, Galfer HH front brake pads.

RK GB520GXW sealed chain, Driven 15-tooth steel front sprocket, Driven 43-tooth aluminum rear sprocket.

Stompgrip tank grips.

Renthal road race dual compound Kevlar grips, Vortex V3 2.0 short brake lever, Vortex brake lever guard.

Not pictured are a FlashTune ECU flash, M4 catalytic converter eliminator, Graves cam chain tensioner, and “all necessary safety wiring.”

Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes “minor nicks on the case covers (under protectors from previous owner), typical wear/tear from racetracks (never crashed), no major scratches or rash on street fairings/parts.

The sale includes the stock bodywork, lights, catalytic converter, and a spare race lower fairing.

It also includes one key and a rear wheel stand.

He is letting it go as he’s replacing it with a Kawasaki ZX-10R race bike. He notes that he changed the oil and filter every 500 miles with Motul 300V synthetic and that there are no known mechanical issues. It is riding on Dunlop KR slicks with 2019 date codes.

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Yamaha is offered on a clean California title currently registered “non-operational” with the CA DMV (no penalty or back fees will be due if returned to and registered for street use again).
