After the initial launch of the F-series – consisting of the GS, the R, the S, and the ST – in 2008, BMW refreshed its lineup with the GT in 2013. Like its predecessors, the bike came built around a 798cc parallel twin (designed in cooperation with Rotax), a final belt drive, and an under-seat fuel tank to keep the center of gravity low. Thanks to a 360-degree firing order and a third balancing shaft, the engine was far smoother than other twins; it also sounded like a typical BMW boxer. Output made for a manageable 89hp and 63lb-ft of torque.
However, as part of the redesign, BMW’s GT got treated to some extra wind protection, a longer rear swingarm, improved vibration-dampening handlebars, lighter cast wheels, and helpful rider aids like Electronic Suspension Adjustment and Automatic Stability Control.
As Bennetts put it in its review, “Although a middleweight, the BMW F800GT is designed as a steady, stable, comfortable tourer, not a sports machine, and has the handling and ride to match. The handling is never flighty, in fact the swing arm is extended by 50mm for extra stability, but it’s still lively enough to be entertaining… The ride is on the plush side and later examples offer the option of BMW’s brilliant ESA (electronic suspension adjustment) which enables damping setting to be altered on the move between pre-set setting and is definitely recommended.”
Manufactured in September of 2015, this example is VIN: WB10B1309GZF88482. The seller acquired the bike two years ago from the original owner in Maryland. He notes that the previous owner was “75 at the time of sale in 2023; he owned the bike for six years and rode 1400 miles. He purchased it new and had it serviced at Bob’s BMW in Jesup Maryland.”
During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 2,600 miles. The odometer shows 4,008 miles.

The seller reports that he had new tires installed at Quaker City BMW in Philadelphia as the originals were aged out. He also had the dealer perform a quick service and safety check in May of 2023.

It is riding on Michelin Road 6 tires with date codes of 4421 and 1822.
