The production bike that took Ducati across the 200 horsepower figure, the 1299 Panigale came with more muscle and more brains. In practice, this meant that claimed output for the 1,285cc Italian came to 205 horses and 106.7lb-ft of torque. What made the series really special, though, was that it was Ducati’s swansong V-twin before moving over to a V-four.
Thanks to an updated electronics package with wheelie control, engine braking control, and traction control, reviewers believed it wasn’t just faster than the 1199, it was more user friendly, as well. Suspension duties were taken care of via a set of Marzocchi forks at the front and a Sachs shock absorber at the rear.
As MCN found in its review, “In the 1299 Panigale, Ducati produced the best road-going, twin cylinder superbike yet. It has monster power and torque, but it’s also more user-friendly thanks to extremely clever electronic suspension and rider aids.”
This example is VIN: ZDM14BYW7GB004529. The seller acquired the bike two years ago from Holeshot Motorsports in Langley, BC.
During his ownership, the seller has covered approximately 3,000 miles. The odometer shows 8,469 kilometers (5,262 miles).
Maintenance:
The seller reports that the heads and radiator were leaking when he purchased the bike in 2021. Accordingly, the bike received a full tear-down with new head seals along with a new radiator. He notes that all maintenance and upgrades were completed in May 2023 by OPP Racing and that he is happy to provide documentation upon request.
Modifications:
Per the seller, the bike was “custom built by Patrik Paletar, superbike builder and founder of OPP racing. With the intention to improve overall performance and rider connection while enhancing the already stunning look of the Ducati 1299, Patrik upgraded suspension, braking, and power delivery while reducing weight with carbon in all of the right places.”
