Multistrada translates to “many roads” – a very fitting name for such a versatile motorcycle. It debuted in 2003 as a pavement-focused adventure bike, and has evolved into one of the fastest ways to cover miles on two wheels. In 2010, Ducati introduced the Multistrada 1200, which was powered by a revised Testastretta motor as found in the 1198 superbike. Since 2010, the Multistrada introduced several notable new features. One significant addition was the Ducati Testastretta DVT (Desmodromic Variable Timing) engine, which incorporated variable valve timing technology for improved power delivery and fuel efficiency.
The 2016 model also featured the Ducati Skyhook Suspension (DSS) Evolution system, which offered semi-active suspension with various riding modes to adapt to different road conditions. These new features of the Multistrada 1200 aimed to enhance performance, comfort, and rider convenience, further establishing the model as a versatile and technologically advanced adventure-touring motorcycle.
