In 2016, the first motorcycle off of Erik Buell Racing (EBR)’s production line was a “1776” Limited Edition 1190RX superbike.
The base model 1190RX was an impressive motorcycle in its own right – Cycle World compared it directly with the 1199 Panigale and in the process called it “the American-made superbike we’ve been waiting for.” The highlights were 185 horsepower, 101.6 pound feet of torque, and 419 pounds of weight.
But for 2016, EBR created a limited edition with an American flag livery – they were officially called the 1776 Limited Edition but lots of riders just called them the Patriots. Jason LeCavalier of Artistimo Customs was hired to paint seven of the Patriots – he told us that “one was auctioned off for charity and the other retained by EBR so only 5 were available for sale.”
The bike that was auctioned off for charity was VIN #1, and that’s what we have here today (VIN: 546AAAG22GE000001). In addition to the bike, the owner got a personal email from none other than Erik Buell thanking him for his purchase/donation to Fisher House.
The owner had EBR install a factory race kit (exhaust, ECU, and gearing) before taking delivery.
The odometer shows 74 miles – the seller calls this “a piece of art in my collection that’s been ridden every 4th of July since I’ve had it.”
The sole significant cosmetic blemish is a pair of scratches on the right side of the swingarm, we believe they are from a rear wheel stand.
The sale includes a flash drive with manuals and two keys (not pictured). Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this EBR is offered on a clean California title with non-op registration.
