Description

Additional photos of this 2016 Honda RC213V-S are available here for your perusal.

When Honda officially announced the RC213V-S in June of 2015, every publication called it the same thing: a MotoGP bike for the street. As MCN put it, “The long-awaited Honda RC213V-S really is a MotoGP bike with lights and as close to the real thing as is practical and affordable. It’s tiny, like an NC30, and floats effortlessly around a track.”

The name continues Honda’s trend of the “RC” prefix for works bikes, and 213V-S breaks down to 21st century, 3rd Version – Street.

Honda announced that their plan was to hand-build one a day with a maximum run of 250 bikes. Unfortunately, the 2016 Fukushima earthquake and tsunami affected production and roughly 125 were built.

As you would assume on a bike this incredible, the components were just about as good as it got for the time – Honda claimed that the Brembo braking components (with the exception of 5.5mm steel rotors and pads) were the same as what they used on their MotoGP bike. That was paired with forged Marchesini magnesium wheels as well as an Ohlins TTX25 fork and TTX36 shock, and it all hung off a frame built by Moriwaki.

Euro-spec bikes produced 159 horsepower, while US bikes produced 101 and Japanese models produced 68. Back to MCN: “In standard trim it promises to be a sublime road bike and is reminiscent of an RC30, even if it’s slightly docile on a circuit. But with the optional Sports Kit fitted it’s something very special.” Lucky for you, this Euro-spec bike comes with the Sports Kit.

This example is VIN: JH2SC75U0GK000011, Serial #131.

The odometer shows 72 kilometers (44 miles).

This bike was one of two RC213V-S’ purchased by ex-Grand Prix rider Randy de Puniet from a dealership in Thailand, the bikes were represented as new and Randy never took them out of the box.

The bike then sold to a private party in Europe who also did not take it out of the box. Earlier this year, the owner had us sell it but we discovered during the inspection that it had been ridden and the original buyer was specifically looking for a new example. With that in mind, the owner is having us auction it off!

Maintenance:
In preparation, the seller had us install new Bridgestone Battlax RS11 tires with date codes of 0822 and 4922.

There was also a slight leak from the clutch master cylinder (we believe this may have been due to pressurization while the bike was flown to the US) that stained the left fairing, so we had Matt Polosky of Color Zone Designs correct the paint.

Modifications:
This RC213V-S is completely stock.

The sale includes two keys, battery charger, and Sport Kit manual.

The sale includes the factory HRC Sports Kit (race kit) in its original packaging. The race kit (which was never officially exported to the US) boosts power from 159 hp to 215 hp. If the next owner wishes, Iconic’s White Glove Service can install the kit (we have done it before).
