Whilst competing in the 250cc World Championships, Eskil Suter founded Suter Racing Technology. Over the years, his company has developed a reputation for excellence in motorcycle chassis design with work in MotoGP, Moto2, Moto3, WSBK, MXGP, and S1GP. Those are some impressive classes, but Suther has made the most headlines, by far, for what some have called the “Ultimate Two-Stroke Track Bike” – the MMX 500.
It’s hard to describe this machine in words, but we’ll have to try. Here’s the absurd summary:

There are so many articles available on what it’s like to ride the MMX 500 – check out Roadracing World, Motorcyclist, or VisorDown – and they will all tell you how the Suter is completely packed with top-notch components.
But the common thread with any story about this bike is that it’s as close as non-factory-backed-racers can get to riding one of the legendary two-stroke 500cc monsters that once dominated Grand Prix racing. We’re excited to give you that rare opportunity today.
This example is VIN: 0299. The selling dealership acquired it just over a year ago “from a collector up in the dry region of Johannesburg in South Africa, the bike has been in South Africa for number of years.”
The selling dealership has not started or ridden the bike during their ownership. The seller is unable to get a photo of the odometer as the battery is dead. They note, “chassis has 5,800 kms on it and the engine has 460 kms since rebuild and has 2,750kms in total.”
It is production number #02/99.
The seller states that this is “Eskil Suter’s own bike, number 2. Raced 2 IOM races, Keanu Reeves rode it at Mugello.”
Per the seller, this was one of Suter’s development bikes that was raced at the Isle of Man TT in 2016 and 2018 and as such, several parts have been updated. “The bike has also a historic value, as Keanu Reeves, Freddy Spencer and Wayne Gardner had a ride on. Besides our superhero Brad Binder.”
Maintenance:
“We had the bike serviced by Ricky Morais (EM TEK racing) before we took delivery. It had a rebuild done after the Isle of Man that the bike competed in.”
Mechanical Issues:
“None that we know, the bike was serviced before we received it. It will need a new battery.”
Inside of the tank:
It is riding on Pirelli/Metzeler tires which have aged out.
