Based on the Yamaha MT-09, the XSR900 offered all of the same lunacy from the 115 horsepower inline triple but with a very distinctive “neo-retro” style.
Most testers preferred the XSR’s updated suspension compared to the MT; in its review, MCN said that “The handling is as good as it gets for a bike straight out of the box. The XSR is stable, with impressive feedback and mechanical grip. It’s hard to find any fault with it at all.” The power and handling were complemented by standard ABS, traction control, and programmable ride modes.
For 2016, Yamaha released the 60th Anniversary edition, which sported an iconic yellow and black speedblock livery in dedication to Kenny Roberts’ TZ750, gold fork tubes, a yellow shock spring and anniversary badging.

Spoked wheel conversion with Excel wheels and Cognito Moto hubs paired to Buchanan spokes.
Gauge relocation kit with machined gauge back.
Akrapovic Racing Line titanium exhaust with stainless exhaust manifold.
Custom tail light.
Custom machined rear brake reservoir holder.
Per the seller: “This bike was signed by King Kenny himself when it was on display at an annual fundraising event on the Roberts’ Ranch in 2017.”
The seller notes the signature has been clear-coated by Kenny Roberts’ painter, Don Serrano.
Inside of the tank:
It is riding on Pirelli Supercorsa SP tires with date codes of 4217 and 3917.
The sale includes two keys, the original tool kit, and the original owner’s manual.
Extras:
This sale includes all OEM parts that have been removed, and a Japanese market-exclusive Yamaha XSR900 “Authentic” exterior set, including a red front fender, white side covers, white tank covers, and chrome headlight rim.
