New for 2014, the F3 800 was more than just an evolution of the F3 675 – Cycle World said, “The 800 simply feels like a completely different animal.” Some of this was due to refinements to the engine management software, but the bigger motor was less peaky and made more power (148 hp at the crank compared to 126). The 800 also got a stronger slipper clutch, taller final drive gearing, upgraded Brembo brakes, and stronger Marzocchi forks. Motorcycle News said, “The F3 800 is all about generating big corner speed, taking wide swooping lines through the corners and thrashing the bejesus out of the engine.”
In 2014, MV Agusta also made a long-awaited return to factory-backed racing with the creation of the Reparto Corse (Racing Department) works team to compete in World Superbike and World Supersport.
Soon after, MV announced a production race replica model called the F3 800 Reparto Corse. The RC was available in limited numbers only: 350 worldwide (100 in 675cc and 250 in 800cc) and featured graphics inspired by Jules Cluzel and teammate Lorenzo Zanetti. Other upgrades included folding brake and clutch levers, black footpegs, tail tidy, high angle windscreen, neoprene seat, and the number 37 referencing how many world titles MV has won over the years.
Manufactured in April 2017, this example is VIN: ZCGGEGNU5HV007985. The seller is the second owner, he purchased it from the original owner in Monterey, California in 2021.
