Alongside the launch of its V4 and V4S Panigales, Ducati also unveiled a third, even more exclusive model known dubbed the V4 Speciale. Billed as the most desirable superbike on the planet, it touted a sharp Tricolore livery and a suite of top-shelf parts from the Ducati and Rizoma catalogs.

So, along with some fully adjustable Öhlins electronic suspension — NIX-30 USD forks up front and a TTX36 monoshock at the rear — it was also specced with Brembo Stylema calipers, an adjustable aluminum swingarm, and a set of forged aluminum Marchesinis. Dry weight came in at 195kg (429lbs) thanks to lightweight components like a cast magnesium subframe a titanium Akrapovič exhaust system, and a slew of carbon fiber. Assuming you wanted to shed even more mass, Ducati also offered a set of optional forged Magnesium wheels.

For the engine, Ducati utilized its 1,103cc Desmosedici Stradale. In the base Panigale V4, the block was good for 214hp and 91lb-ft of torque. However, with the addition of the Akrapovič exhaust, output was upped by some 12hp and 5lb-ft of torque.

Keeping everything in check was an impressive suite of electronic aids based around a six-axis Bosch IMU: along with lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, wheelie control, and slide control, you also got adjustable engine braking and ride modes. Limited to just 1,500 units, MCN described the Speciale best in their review when they said “when you do take it out into the daylight, it turns heads everywhere you go. The booming full-race titanium exhaust grabs everyone’s attention and the styling keeps them looking. There are very few bikes that can match this for exclusivity and desirability.”
