In 2018, Kawasaki took their Z900 naked sportbike and restyled it to tug at the heartstrings of riders who loved the Z1 from the 1970s. In Abhi’s review of the Z900RS, he thought it was the best rebirth of the UJM so far.
The RS commanded a $2,400 premium over the Z900 due to the styling, faux-spoke wheels, traction control, and minor changes to the ergonomics.
Another change was a 12% increase in crankshaft flywheel mass to calm the motor down, which was part of the tuning that brought peak hp down to 111 but made it much more livable (and the bike was still plenty quick). It’s a fabulous commuter that blends old school style with modern performance.
Manufactured in October 2017, this example is VIN: JKAZR2C17JA001486.
It was accepted as a trade-in by our neighbors at Bartel’s Harley-Davidson, so the history is not well-known, but it appears that it was sold new by Kawasaki of Simi Valley.
The odometer shows 199 miles.
It’s on the original tires.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California, this Z900RS is offered on a clean California title with registration current through August 2021.
