For 2018, Kawasaki introduced a new model as the pinnacle of the ZX-10R lineup. Called the SE (short for Special Edition), it cost $21,899 – $7k more than the base model and even $3k more than the homologation special ZX-10RR.
It featured the same engine upgrades given to the RR which resulted in 197 horsepower at 13,000 rpm (207 with ram-air) and 83 ft-lbs of torque at 11,500 rpm.
Beyond that, the SE offered a bi-directional quickshifter, Marchesini forged aluminum wheels, and Brembo M50 monobloc calipers.
But the big news was Kawasaki’s first usage of semi-active electronic suspension (Showa forks, Showa shock, and Ohlins steering damper). It offered road, track, and manual modes, featuring 15 levels of adjustability that could be adjusted on the fly and taking in data about road quality every 10 milliseconds.
Cosmetically, the SE was available in one color: Metallic Flat Spark Black/Metallic Matte Graphite Gray.

Maintenance:
In preparation for the listing, the seller had us install a new DID 525 VX3 chain, flush the front/rear brake fluid, change the oil, and perform a safety inspection. We also installed new Bridgestone Battlax RS10 tires with date codes of 2220 and 2221.
Angel did the work, and he notes that the brake pads are at 75% front/rear and that the headlight, turn signals, brake light, tail light, plate light, killswitch, and horn are OK.

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Kawasaki is offered on a clean California title with registration that expired in March 2020.
Per the California DMV website, it would cost $1,313 to make the registration current through March 2023.
