Polaris bought the Indian brand in 2011 and in 2015 they debuted their new American cruiser, the Scout, at the legendary Sturgis Motorcycle Rally in South Dakota. Although it shared its namesake with the Scout of the 1920s, ’30s, and ’40s, – long gone are the tank shift, foot clutch, and hardtail rigid frame.

The revival did have some subtle styling cues paying homage to the classic – single seat, swept back front fender, and teardrop shaped headlight. The new powerplant was a liquid-cooled, 1,133cc mill producing approximately 100 horsepower and around 63 lb-ft of torque. Iconic’s very own Abhi absolutely loved the engine when he rode a Scout from Los Angeles to Las Vegas and you can read his thoughts here.

Fast forward a few years and Indian release the Scout Bobber in 2018. Using the same V-twin, the Bobber had a more stripped down look with chopped fenders, beefier tires, headlight shroud, and lower street-tracker style handlebars. The riding experience differs as well with one inch less of suspension travel, slightly higher seat, and foot controls an inch and a half closer.
