By 2017, BMW had fleshed out the R nineT platform to include the original, the Scrambler, the Racer, the Urban GS, and the Pure. The latter was released as a budget friendly model for those who wanted all the power, great handling, and sleek looks of the original without breaking the bank.
Changes included a steel tank, cast wheels, traditional telescopic fork, single instrument gauge, 2-into-1 exhaust, and other slight changes resulting in a less flashy package without sacrificing performance. Nevertheless, the R nineT (in any form) is a good choice for someone who wants to do some customization. The motor is a classic air/oil-cooled engine that puts out useful power with 110 horses and a significant 86 ft/lbs of torque.
Manufactured October 2019, this example is VIN: WB10J1302LZ732383. The seller is the original owner who purchased the bike new from Max BMW Motorcycles in Troy, New York, and states, “Bought it new in 2020 after Abhi of Bike-urious let me try out his tester R nineT Scrambler back at the end of 2016. I’ve wanted one ever since. Got it at the start of the pandemic and put about 6,000 miles on it in the second half of 2020 alone. Easy to do when the roads are empty and the bike is so fun. Then about 1,000 each following year. Simply wanted to try something different this year so I’m letting this one go. It’s been an awesome bike to ride and own, with no issues whatsoever always confidence inspiring.”
The odometer shows 9,102 miles.
