The Husqvarna 701 Supermoto is a bike that seems to get updates every year. At its core, it’s a supermoto thumper which shares its engine and frame with a KTM sibling (originally the SMC R in 2016, and then the Duke 690 in 2017).
The 2017 engine update gained twin balance shafts and a higher redline, bumping horsepower up to 74.
In 2019, the Brembo calipers and Bosch ABS were upgraded, and the forks got full adjustability.
For 2020, Husqvarna went crazy with technology, adding a quickshifter, lean-sensitive traction control and ABS, and ride modes.
As Rennie Scaysbrook summed up in his review of the 2020 701 SM for Cycle News, “if you want a bike with no pretenses other than being an absolute hooligan machine with no real concessions for comfort, long distance riding, or any other practicalities, the 701 is definitely the bike for you.”
The seller of this example (VIN: VBKUSV403LM776265, Engine #: L-768*03856) is the second owner. He acquired it in late 2020 from San Francisco Sports Cars.
Since then he’s covered approximately 150 miles. The odometer now shows 499 miles.
The seller states that “it’s a like new bike, and Husky has a 2 year warranty on this bike. The buyer will need to check on the transferability of the warranty.”
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for a viewing), this 701 SM is offered on a clean California title with registration current through February 2022.
The seller is letting it go as he is moving out of the state and he hasn’t been riding it enough.
