In 2018, MV Agusta unveiled a concept for a new machine called the Superveloce. It was based on the F3 800 but with styling inspired by their 70s racers. The resulting machine won “Most Beautiful Bike of the Show” at EICMA 2018.

A year later, the Italian firm announced that the Superveloce was going into production, calling it “a modern interpretation of the iconic stylistic concept of the MV Agusta. A fusion of vintage and contemporary ensures that the future incorporates the memories of good times gone by.”

And here’s the thing: the bike has shown itself to be much more than a mere looker. Between the 54.3-inch wheelbase, the 381-pound dry weight, and the 148hp 800cc triple, the Superveloce is both nimble through the turns as well as powerful on the straights.

As Cycle World said in its first ride review: “The bike felt compact and light, offering a very rational and comfortable riding posture, even to a 5-foot-10, 220-pound rider like me. Compared to the F3 800, the Superveloce 800 moves the rider a little forward, good for keeping the weight distribution correctly biased to the front. Steering response was sharp and firm, and a couple of fast highway passes proved the Superveloce to be perfectly stable at speeds in excess of 120 mph.”
