First coming to market all the way back in 1985, Suzuki had 32 years of R&D behind them when making the sixth generation of their iconic liter-bike – the GSX-R1000R. Features that were new for this model included VVT, or Variable Valve Timing – improving bottom-end grunt and high-revving power – as well as the electronics suite. With a major overhaul in the technology came new rider aids such as traction control, a quick-shifter, and multiple rider modes that helped rider’s refine their riding experience.

Founded in 1980 by Bruce Hammer and John Ulrich, Team Hammer is one of the country’s premier racing organizations, with 135 AMA Pro/MotoAmerica victories and 11 championships plus a long list of achievements in endurance racing – in 2026, they’ll be competing in MotoAmerica Superbike with Richie Escalante and Supersport with Tyler Scott. In addition, Team Hammer supplies race-ready bikes and technical/logistical support for independent teams.

In 2020, Team Hammer took over the reigns from Yoshimura to become Suzuki’s factory partner for MotoAmerica racing with support from other companies such as M4 and ECSTAR, and after that season they built an identical race bike for a private party which is what we’re offering here.

This example is VIN: JS1DM11H1L7100257. The seller acquired it four years ago directly from Team Hammer.

The odometer shows 2,052 miles.

Team Hammer Owner/Chris Ulrich built me their identical Team Suzuki MotoAmerica Stock 1000 race bike in late 2021. Team Hammer also built and supported the same race bikes for Altus Motorsports.

MotoAmerica Stock 1000 National Champions:
2020 MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Champion – Cameron Peterson/Altus Motorsports
2021 MotoAmerica Stock 1000 Champion – Jake Lewis/Altus Motorsports

Building the same bike now on the Suzuki platform is $50,000+. Team Hammer built the bike at their race shop from the frame up in Athens, Alabama. This bike is for serious track day enthusiasts and racers who demand a professionally built race bike by the longest running racing team in MotoAmerica.
