After years of riding his Harley-Davidson Dyna through the backroads of Southern California, Keeanu Reeves realized that, for all of its American spirit, his cruiser was sorely lacking when it came to performance. Rather than trading it in on some souped-up Japanese sportbike, though, Reeves enlisted the help of noted builder and LA County Choprods owner, Gard Hollinger, to help him transform it into something of his own. Fast forward to 2012, and the pair had modified the bike to such an extent that it had become (what we now consider to be) the predecessor to the KRGT-1. Thus, ARCH was born.

Just three years later, ARCH began taking orders for the first production KRGT-1s. Billed as a retro-modern custom, the bike was (and is still to this day) quite unlike anything else. For a hefty $85,000, you got a completely bespoke ride featuring over 200 proprietary components, some 300-plus machine hours, and a fit specifically tailored to your body type.

At the heart of the bike is a 124CI (2,032cc) S&S V-Twin, a massive 45-degree block good for 122hp and 122lb-ft of torque at the rear wheel. Elswhere, ARCH outfitted the bike with fully-adjustable Ă–hlins suspension, carbon fiber BST wheels, six-pot ISR calipers, and Bosch two-channel ABS. You also got an advanced tubular steel backbone frame, an armload of billet aluminum, and a two-into-one exhaust system developed in cooperation with Yoshimura.

And here’s the thing — Reeves and Hollinger are always looking for ways to improve their offering. Debuting in 2020, the second iteration of the KRGT-1 is distinguished by more than 20 major updates and 150 new components, including the swingarm, the suspension, the brakes, the bodywork, as well as the controls. As Cycle World put it in its first ride review: “The final product is not your typical high-end custom mash-up bike dripping with chrome. It’s just pure metal artistry, with a strong dose of performance. The KRGT-1 manages to hit a level of refinement, superior fit and finish, and power and handling that earn it a unique position in the world of exotic motorcycling.”

This example is VIN: 1A9AA2B39NL909062, Engine #: ZP10629. The seller purchased the bike from ARCH in June of 2022.

The odometer shows 1,651 miles.
