If you’re even casually invested in going-ons of the industry, then Harley-Davidson’s LiveWire is a bike that needs no introduction. As the most marked departure to come from the Bar and Shield since the company’s inception, it was a model that divided motorcyclists en masse — especially because of its claimed 146 miles of city range. In its review, Cycle World said, “The more you ride the LiveWire, the more you enjoy and appreciate it for what it is. Great ergonomics, a lot of fun, and gobs of usable, instant power to crush nearly any automobile off the line. It’s also beautifully finished, as you would expect of a company that has tirelessly dedicated more than 100 years to building premium motorcycles. It’s not, however, a motorcycle built to aimlessly explore back roads, and you should check the availability of charging stations twice before setting out for a journey.”

What the LiveWire lacked in juice (at least compared to a traditional IC engine), however, it more than made up for in performance. In combination with the 24kWh battery, the longitudinally-mounted electric motor made 105 horsepower. Thanks to the instantaneous 116lb-ft of torque, 0-60mph took a mere three seconds. Come time to stop the bike’s 544-pound heft, a set of four-piston Brembo Monoblocs took care of things up front while a set of two piston calipers handled the rear. In order to keep things rubber-side down, Harley fitted the LiveWire with a slew of state-of-the-art rider aids. As part of the Reflex Defensive Rider Systems, you got traction control, cornering ABS, rear-wheel lift mitigation, and even drag-torque slip control. To ensure an easier transition to EV riding (and to simulate the feel of engine braking) the LiveWire also benefitted from adjustable regenerative braking.

As Road & Track put it in its review, “The LiveWire is a fantastic bike. It offers a unique and exciting riding experience that can’t be matched by internal-combustion alternatives. At no point during my time with the LiveWire did I wish I was riding a gas-powered machine.”

This example is VIN: 1HD2XBEB5NB800524. The seller is the original owner, he acquired it from Patriot Harley-Davidson / LiveWire Fairfax in Fairfax, Virginia on April 7, 2023.

“I’m selling it simply because I don’t use it enough. The bike is in very good condition, but I don’t have a garage or convenient access to charging where I live, which makes ownership less practical for me. If I had a garage and could easily plug it in at home, I think I’d get a lot more use out of it.”

Maintenance:
“Given the bike’s very low mileage and the relatively low-maintenance nature of the electric drivetrain, it has not required any significant maintenance during my ownership. I’ve primarily kept the tires properly inflated and periodically charged the battery. I do not have any major service records because no substantial maintenance or repairs have been necessary.” The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues.
Modifications:
“The bike is mostly stock, with the main upgrade being professionally installed paint protection film (PPF) on the painted fairings, along with ceramic coating on several other surfaces. The PPF has helped preserve the finish and still looks very good, while also remaining removable if a future owner prefers the bike without it. The installation was done carefully, and overall the protection is subtle while providing an added layer of protection for the paint.”

It is riding on the original Harley-Davidson/Michelin Scorcher tires with date codes of 2919.

The sale includes 1 ignition key and the original owners manual.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album in the “Photos” tab for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
“The bike is in very good cosmetic condition overall, especially given its age, low mileage, and the fact that it is currently stored indoors. There are only minor signs of normal use. The underside and kickstand have some light wear, and there are a few small stone-chip imperfections on the front/side of the bike consistent with its approximately 400 miles. A few of the brake caliper bolts also show some light surface rust. It could benefit from a detailed wash in some of the harder-to-reach areas, such as around the battery radiator fins. For the blemish photos, I took them under harsh LED lighting and intentionally angled the light to make the imperfections as visible as possible. Most of them are much less noticeable in normal or natural lighting, but I wanted to make sure the listing was as transparent as possible..”
