The 2022 Honda CBR1000RR continues Honda’s “Total Control” design philosophy, emphasizing a balance of cornering, acceleration, and braking. Positioned alongside the track-focused CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP, the CBR1000RR serves as a more accessible yet still highly capable liter-class sportbike, drawing on Honda’s racing pedigree while offering practical features for street, canyon, and track-day use.

Power comes from a 998cc inline four-cylinder engine designed for high-revving performance. Technical highlights include a 13.0:1 compression ratio, Diamond Like Carbon (DLC)-coated piston rings, magnesium engine covers for weight reduction, and optimized intake and fuel-injection systems to improve efficiency and throttle response. Electronic rider aids include Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) with wheelie control, adjustable engine-braking, a quick shifter with customizable feel, and multiple power modes.

The chassis consists of a finely tuned aluminum frame and swingarm, lightweight Y-spoke wheels, and a titanium fuel tank for mass centralization. Suspension is provided by a Showa 43mm Big Piston Fork and Balance Free Rear Cushion shock, aided by Honda’s Electronic Steering Damper (HESD). Braking comes from Tokico four-piston radial-mounted calipers, with lean sensitive ABS.
