Description
As Iconic Motorbikes continues to expand its reach, we are thrilled to be gaining more international clientele. We are grateful for yet another Australian listing, and we thank the seller for choosing Iconic!
Additional photos of this KTM RC 8C are available here for your perusal.
We’ll leave the intro to this to KTM:
“The KTM RC 8C is an ultra-lightweight, bespoke track weapon designed with one simple purpose – to decimate lap times and stamp orange authority on the starting grid. With only 100 of these rare weapons going into production, the KTM RC 8C is a highly limited, unique motorcycle aimed at a special type of rider who knows how to get his, or her, elbow down.”
“The KTM RC 8C is developed and built in partnership with Kramer Motorcycles, around a no-compromise, hand-built racing chassis with a 100% track-focused objective. With one eye on all out performance and the other on personal adjustability, this 140 kg [308 pounds] is truly without equal.”
“The KTM RC 8C is hand-built and boasts factory racing levels of premium componentry, from Dymag UP7X forged aluminum wheels (with quick change assembly and axle that allows wheels to be swapped out without disassembling the brakes), Pirelli Diablo Superbike racing slicks, and the very best components from Brembo’s high performance component range (19RCS Corsa Corta radial master cylinder and Stylema front calipers grabbing 290mm fully floating brake disks with aluminum rotor carriers and titanium brake caliper screws).”
“Rocketing the KTM RC 8C off the line is a ultra-potent, lightweight and compact 132 hp/74 ft-lb 889cc LC8c engine. If that sounds familiar, it’s the same, celebrated powerplant found in the KTM 890 Duke R, but with more focus on drive out of corners. The benefit of using a production engine is easy maintenance and parts availability, without sacrificing on performance.”
“On the track, data equals speed. The KTM RC 8C makes use of a race-focused, easy to use 5″ TFT AIM MX 1.2 RACE dashboard with data logging technology and integrated GPS function which records multiple aspects of your lap. All data can be imported to the AIM RaceStudio for easy and concise studying later.”
“Reduced to the bare minimum and solely focused on racing, the KTM RC 8C makes use of race-style switchgear that allows riders to switch between wet and dry mapping, adjust engine braking and engage the pit lane speed limiter quickly, at the press of a button. The KTM RC 8C is designed and aerodynamically optimized by the same team who designed the KTM RC16 MotoGP racer. Making use of ultra-strong but lightweight GRP with carbon Kevlar reinforced fairings with quick release design, it is the closest you can get to an out-and-out GP racer.”
“Refined down to the millimeter, the KTM RC 8C can be adjusted to suit any rider, riding style or track. Triple clamp offset, ride height, suspension settings and steering head angle, adjustable by +/- 1 degree in 0.5 degree steps, can be tweaked to find the perfect balance of dynamics. The absolute pinnacle of READY TO RACE, the KTM RC 8C is 100% race-ready, not only down to top shelf componentry, but also finer details like essential safety wire parts right out of the race workshop.”
“It is designed to protect all essential parts in the event of a fall over. Smart design means many parts are inboard, placing them out of harm’s way, while others make use of crash protection pads, such as the steering head, frame, forks, fuel tank, and swingarm.”
This example is VIN: VBKR89438NM836484. The seller is the second owner, he acquired it ten months ago. The original owner acquired it new in November 2022 from Savage Motorcycles in Midvale, Western Australia after ordering it directly through KTM of Australia. The original owner reported that “24 of the first 100 were cancelled orders; 12 then came to Australia at the end of last year and 12 went to New Zealand, so this is one of 12 in Australia.”
During his ownership, the seller has covered 155 kilometers (96 miles). The odometer shows 754 kilometers (469 miles).
Maintenance:
The seller states that there are no known mechanical issues. “Full service and a dyno run were carried out by technicians at Cube Performance Centre at 5 hours use. Recent maintenance was carried out at 7 hours use by Moto1 Motorcycles (a KTM dealership), which consisted of a complete service. It currently has 7.4 hours of use and this example is understood to remain covered by its manufacturer’s warranty, which will be transferred to the new owner. KTM Factory of Melbourne completed an ECU upgrade in February 2024, resulting in an additional 4hp and improved cooling.”
Modifications:
Per the seller, “The Moore Track Toys sticker seen in some of the photos has been removed and Eazi-Grip Pro tank grips have been added. We actually designed these with Eazi-Grip, which are now available globally.”
Cosmetic Blemishes:
The seller notes “There is usage-related wear on the seat pad. KTM replaced all fairings with blemishes when upgrading the ECU in February 2024.”
The sale includes the KTM factory stands, the pit/display mat, all the owner’s manuals and documentation, a key fob, the factory bike cover, as well as a custom KTM RC8C one-piece leather suit. Per the seller, “it has never been worn, and it’s suitable for a rider 6’2″-6’3″ (188-191cm), 155-175lbs (70-80kgs).”
Currently located in Caboolture, Queensland, Australia, this KTM is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any RC 8C stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
