First introduced in 1994, the Speed Triple helped define the modern factory streetfighter. Nearly three decades later, Triumph pushed the model firmly into “super naked” territory with the Speed Triple 1200 RS. Lighter, slimmer, and significantly more powerful than its predecessors, the 2022 RS was designed to deliver superbike performance in a more comfortable, naked package.

At its heart is a new 1160cc three cylinder engine producing a claimed 177 horsepower and 92 lb-ft of torque. Paired with a stacked six speed gearbox, slip and assist clutch, and a bidirectional quickshifter, the motor is free revving and aggressive while still usable on the street. A new aluminum frame contributes to a 22 pound weight reduction over the previous model, while fully adjustable Öhlins suspension, Brembo Stylema calipers with an RCS master cylinder, and Metzeler Racetec RR K3 tires provide track ready control.

Electronics include multiple riding modes, cornering ABS, switchable traction control, wheelie control, cruise control, and a five inch color TFT display with smartphone connectivity. Upright ergonomics and a more compact profile balance everyday usability with high performance intent, making the Speed Triple 1200 RS the most advanced and powerful iteration of Triumph’s long running naked sportbike.

Manufactured in March 2021, this example is VIN: SMTP01STXNTAG5584.

The odometer shows 1,506 miles.
