2011 marked the end of two-stroke world championships – the next year, Moto3 moved to four-strokes, and Honda’s first factory effort was the NSF250R. Rules capped bore size at 81mm, revs at 14,000 rpm, and valves at four.

Honda called their NSF250R, “A new racing machine for a new era: light, compact, high output, high performance.”

Claimed power? 48 ponies, which were plenty for the feather light dry weight of 180 pounds. Honda offered this racer in the US in 2012 with a MSRP of $28,599. That would be the only year that Honda officially exported the bike to the US via their dealer network.

This example is VIN: JH2MR03C0CK001078.

The seller states that he has done 20 track days with it. “About each track day I run 4 to 5 sessions in a track day T Hill east 3mil, east 2.5 miles Button Willow 2.5. Under 1,000 miles covered.” There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown.

This example was imported by Iconic directly from HRC in 2022 – we sold it to a private party in Sacramento, California in March of 2023 who then sold it to the current owner. “I love this bike the only issue is red flags on track days I have to leave it on the track because it won’t bump start and the provider won’t let me get towed in. Very frustrating.”
Maintenance:
“Oil and filter after each track day. I didn’t think I would ever sell the bike. I was planning on racing it, never happened.”

Modifications:
The seller has provided an invoice from G-Force Performance Center in Rancho Cordova, California in January 2025 which includes the below for $2,788.32:

– valve job
– top end disassembly/reassembly

– manual machining to slot cam sprockets
