All new for 2024, the Hypermotard 698 Mono stands out for a few reasons – at 333 pounds (wet, no fuel) it weighs an impressive 88 pounds less than the very capable Hypermotard 950, and it is Ducati’s first single since the legendary Supermono.

The star of the show is the Superquadro Mono engine – if we’re allowed to oversimplify, it’s half of the 1299 Superquadro V-Twin. The piston and combustion chamber design are the same, and it’s even got the same aluminum cylinder sleeve from a 1299 Superleggera. Dual counterbalancers help tame vibrations and Ducati claims 77.5 horsepower and 46 pound-feet of torque. This makes it not only the most powerful production single cylinder motorcycle engine you can buy but the highest revving (10,250 rpm) as well.

The engine is complemented by a trellis frame that weighs just 15.8 pounds, as well as 45mm Marzocchi forks, cast alloy wheels, Sachs shock, and Brembo brakes – with a hefty 330mm rotor up front, the same size Ducati is using on their top of the line superbikes at this time.

This example is VIN: ZDMBAS2N0RB002394, Engine #: AS2R002810. The seller is the original owner, he purchased it new roughly 20 months ago from Pandora’s European Motorsports in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

The odometer shows 1,965 miles.

The seller is a dear friend of Iconic who is one of the owners of MNNTHBX, one of the premier companies in the world dedicated to small bore motorcycling. We asked him why he’s selling this and he said, “it’s perhaps my favorite bike of many I’ve owned. Most of my riding buddies have sold out, and my typical ride is now 30 minutes on local backroads just to enjoy the breeze. I can do that on pretty much anything, so I plan on picking up a small bore or scooter. I’m getting old. Sales pitch aside, I’m a total perfectionist weirdo, and this bike has been pampered to an extreme. Never ridden in the rain, or parked outside. Kept clean always. Never abused or tracked (I don’t have enough talent to abuse a bike).”

Maintenance:
“Dropped the stock oil and filters at 500 miles, replaced with Motul 300 and all new OEM filters and washers. Repeated that again at 1,900 miles.”

Modifications:
“Added the factory Ducati Termi dual titanium full system that includes the sprint filter and new ECU, a $3,300 dealer only option. It adds 7hp, and enables Ducati’s “wheelie assist” mode.

NRC fender eliminator w/ integrated light.

MNNTHBX reservoir mounts and mirrors.

I still have the stock take-off exhaust, mirrors, etc.”
It is riding on the original Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tires from 2024.

The sale includes 2 ignition keys.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album in the “Photos” tab for all known cosmetic blemishes. “There is very mild staining on top of the left side of the swingarm. It was that way new, and I don’t know the cause. It’s mild enough it really doesn’t show up in photos, but it’s pictured in the shot with the tiny hand.”

Currently located in Seymour, Tennessee, this Ducati is offered on a clean Tennessee title with registration current through October 2026.
