In 2021, Ducati brought back an acronym that they hadn’t used on a superbike since 2012: SP (Sport Production).

In this new context, the SP represents a V4 S (with the 214 hp Desmosedici Stradale engine) that’s been given special upgrades plucked from both the homologation-spec R as well as the Superleggera: carbon fiber wheels, carbon fiber front fender, carbon fiber wings, larger front brakes, Brembo Stylema R calipers with remote adjuster, and an STM EVO-SBK dry clutch.

To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the iconic 916, Ducati built 500 examples of the SP2 with a livery inspired by the 996 that won the 1999 WSBK Championship with Carl Fogarty.

Per Ducati, “the bike is delivered with a track-ready kit, which includes billet aluminum caps for removing the rear-view mirrors, number plate holder removal kit, open carbon clutch cover and Ducati Data Analyser+ data acquisition system.”

They add, “the technical equipment combines the SP2 specifications with a series of fine details that make this bike even more unique. In fact, the Panigale V4 SP2 30th Anniversario 916 has a racing fuel tank cap machined from billet aluminum*, air ducts for cooling the front brakes, exhaust heat shield, wings with double profile design and front mudguard in carbon fiber.”

Manufactured in May 2024, this example is VIN: ZDMDAGWW6RB011089. The seller is the second owner, he purchased it from Del Amo Motorsports in Redondo Beach, California less than a year ago.

During his ownership, the seller has covered 25 miles. The odometer shows 338 miles.
