Here at Iconic Motorbikes, we only carry the names that we’ve personally tested and recommend. Having tried our fair share of roller starters, we can confidently say that those from Bike Starters are our favorite designs going! (It also doesn’t hurt that they’re an Australian brand, as that’s where Adam’s from.)
These 2.5kw high-performance starter motors work with a wide range of motorcycles, including everything from small displacement dirt bikes to large, high-compression track bikes. Please note: According to Bike Starters, “Due to unique characteristics and technical limitations, some large V-twin models may not be suitable for roll-starting methods.”
These are powered by a 12-volt battery (not included with purchase). The manufacturer recommends a battery with 520 cold cranking amps and dimensions of 240mm x 174mm x 205mm to fit in the battery cradle.
