Though we’re motorcycle specialists first and foremost, every now and then we venture beyond bikes here at Iconic. Today we have a children’s car styled after a Jeep (we see a bit of G Wagon and Jimny in it, too). The owner’s manual suggests that it’s made by a company called “Children Cars” (and that they also made a Porsche 930 variant) but we have not been able to find a detailed history on the company or the model.
Unlike your typical battery-powered Fisher-Price car, this little Jeep is powered by Honda’s tried and true G100 engine. Displacement for the air-cooled four-stoke single comes in at 76cc — enough to make roughly 2.2hp and 2.5lb-ft of torque. We haven’t had the chance to clock a top speed… yet.
It’s outfitted with lights, turn signals, and even a little horn.
The best part, though, is that it features a clutch, two gears, and reverse! These days, manuals may be a dying breed, but here’s a way to get youngsters comfortable shifting from an early age.
We have been unable to find a VIN for this machine. There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown. The seller acquired it two years ago and has kept it on display.
Maintenance:
The seller had asked us to list this children’s car as-is. However, our Service Managers Daniel and Lalo couldn’t help themselves and were able to get it running with a carb clean and new fuel. Prior maintenance history is not known.
With the owner’s permission, we took it for a spin:
Modifications:
