Additional photos of these Doug Chandler leathers are available here for your perusal.
A true legend of the sport, Doug Chandler is an American motorcycle racer who had a lengthy career in GP racing and was recently featured by the AMA as one of their most impressive champions:
Doug is one of only four riders in AMA racing history to achieve the “Grand Slam,” a prestigious title that identifies someone who won national wins in all five grand national racing disciplines: short track, TT, half mile, mile, and road race. On top of that, Doug won the AMA Superbike Championship three times, won an AMA Supermoto Championship, competed in the 500cc World GP (more on that in a minute), and was inducted into the AMA Hall of Fame in 2006.
Doug competed in the World 500cc GP Championship from 1991-1994, spending time with Yamaha, Suzuki, and Cagiva. His 1992 season was with Lucky Strike Suzuki (his teammate was Kevin Schwantz), in which he campaigned 13 races, and earned 2 pole positions, 4 podiums en route to placing 5th overall. After a successful career, Chandler now teaches motorcycle training courses and works with MotoAmerica and their road race series. He also runs DC-10 Performance in Salinas, California – a family-owned-and-operated small business, specializing in motorcycle & bicycle sales, parts, and service.
