2002 brought out several dramatic changes in the highest level of GP racing – the premier class was renamed to MotoGP and they introduced new regulations which allowed 990cc four-stroke bikes to race alongside the 500cc two-strokes of the previous year. That motivated Ducati to join the following year, and they brought out the GP3 with Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss.

Loris ended up finishing fourth in the MotoGP championship that year. When combined with Loris’ sixth place finish, Ducati finished second overall in the manufacturer’s championship in their debut season.

The seller acquired this from a Ducati collector in Italy. He happens to be friends with Mr. Capirossi (and has shown us photographic proof of that), so the seller had Loris sign the fairing in red and the fender in black.

Per the seller, “this is the front fairing and fender from Ducati GP3, the first Ducati MotoGP, I know that is 100% original because Loris told me and because Loris has this motorbike in his garage and I checked it personally.”

Please note that the pictured stand is not included in the sale.

Currently located in Ravenna, Italy, this fairing/fender is offered on a Bill of Sale only. Have any questions about this listing? Let us know in the comments!
