To support the Pediatric Brain Tumor Foundation’s Ride for Kids, Iconic Motorbikes is auctioning three Repsol-edition CBR1000RR sport bikes donated by American Honda from their private collection. The sale price of this auction goes to the PBTF to support research and family programs for children battling brain tumors.
These special-edition Repsol models were originally offered by Honda as tributes to the factory MotoGP team, for whom the global multi-energy company has been the title sponsor since 1995. This 2009 special edition of the CBR1000RR is the first gen. 2 Repsol version, following the model’s 2008 overhaul. Also being auctioned are 2005 and 2007 versions.
The nation’s longest-running charitable motorcycle ride, Ride for Kids takes place on September 12 at different locations across the country. For the full list, and to register, visit www.rideforkids.org.

With bodywork inspired by the RC211V, the first 998cc CBR-RR more than looked the business. In 2005, Honda took things one step further and released the iconic Repsol Edition model.
2009 brought the tenth generation of the RR, fresh off of a major revamp for 2008. Big improvements included titanium valves, lighter pistons, a lighter and narrower frame, a slipper clutch, and updates to the electronic steering damper. The old underseat exhaust was dropped in favor of a side-mount for better mass centralization, as well.
Manufactured in November of 2008, this example is VIN: JH2SC59LX9K000042.
The odometer shows zero miles.
There are no modifications – the bike is as new and is still equipped with the original Dunlop Sportmax Qualifier tires with date codes of 1908 and 2008.
Cosmetic Blemishes:
We note some flecks of brown liquid on the front of the bike that do not come off easily, we are unable to determine the type of liquid. It is most apparent on the triple tree, right inner fairing, and right mirror housing.
Light scratch marks on right side of tail, chip in left side of tail.
Scratch on front fairing underneath the red sticker.
Right mirror arm housing is cracked.
Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Honda is offered on a MSO. Have any CBR1000RR Repsol stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the comments!
