Additional photos of this Honda RC30 race bike are available here for your perusal.

We’ve sold over 35 Honda RC30s in the last 2+ years and we like to talk about how the street bike has plenty of endurance racing-inspired feature, but this example (VIN: RC301000039) is something special and will let you enjoy where RC30s are at their best – on the track.

It came to us from Japan as part of a package deal along with this Kawasaki ZX-7RR race bike. We do not have any history on this bike, however there are some decals on the tank which suggest that it may have spent time in Germany.

While it was in our possession, we took it to a track day at Laguna Seca. Steve Rapp took it out for five laps, Adam took it for three, and Olly took it for two.

Adam (on Steve’s Suzuki TL1000R) chases Steve on this Honda RC30. through the Corkscrew. Photo by Nathan May.

It’s significantly faster than any other RC30 we’ve ridden, and it was even faster than Steve’s fully-built TLR down the main straight, so we know that there’s been some engine work done but we don’t know exactly what.

In preparation for the track day, Olly cleaned and synced the carbs, rebuilt the rear brake caliper, removed/inspected/adjusted the clutch, installed a battery, changed the oil/filter, and installed Pirelli Diablo Superbike slicks with date codes of 4520 and 1321.

Modifications: here are the modifications we’ve been able to identify:
HRC magnesium wheels (17″ rear).

Steering damper.

HRC full exhaust.

Moriwaki dry clutch.

Modified race subframe (possibly HRC, we can’t confirm) with custom catch can, piggyback shock.

Modified swingarm (the secondary arm has been removed), HRC rear rotor.

HRC vented full floater front rotors with spacers on the calipers to fit the rotors.

HRC oversized race main radiator

Aftermarket triple clamp.

Modified tank (no gas cap, fill hole only).

Aftermarket rearsets (possibly HRC but we can’t confirm).

HRC seat pad.

Race fairing stay which holds an OEM tachometer and HRC temperature gauge. There is no odometer, true mileage is unknown.

It has been safety wired.

Cosmetic Blemishes: there are several minor scrapes as to be expected with a track bike. Here are the most significant ones, please see the album up top for all known blemishes:

The lower fairing does not line up perfectly with the upper.

The sale includes the rear stand.

Currently located at our facility in Santa Monica, California (please make an appointment for an inspection), this Honda is offered on a bill of sale only. Have any RC30 stories or questions about this listing? Let us know in the “Comments” tab!
