Like most aspiring motorcycle greats, Joe Roberts took to two wheels from a young age — not long after getting his feet wet with a 50cc, he started racing youth flat track and supermoto. Then, once he had secured third in points in the 125cc class, his early promise earned him a try-out (and then a spot) with the Red Bull Rookies Cup.

Roberts competed in the Rookies cup from 2011 to 2013, during which time he boasted strong racing and solid finishes of second, fourth, and fifth. Just prior to his 16th birthday, he set the record for the youngest win in AMA Pro Road racing with a double win at Barber Motorsports Park. Even more impressive, though, was the fact that he won again at Laguna Seca and scored another double win at Miller Motorsports Park, making him five for five in AMA races entered.

Eventually, in 2017, Joe Roberts moved to the Moto2 world championship. Following an impressing 2020 season with American Racing (he became the first American to qualify pole position at Indianapolis since 2010, and he became the first American to podium at Valencia since 2011), Roberts was offered multiple deals with Moto2 frontrunners and even a spot with Aprilia’s MotoGP squad. Nevertheless, he declined the opportunity and signed with Italtrans Racing Team.

These leathers are from Roberts’ 2021 Moto2 World Champsionship season with Italtrans. The seller acquired them one year ago through a charity auction.

They feature Spidi’s airbag system. The seller states that they have not been crashed.
