Like many American riders, the Kentucky Kid got his start racing minibikes before moving into the world of dirt track. When he finally became AMA eligible at 16, he immediately started making a name for himself, gradually rising through satellite teams before taking the 1999 600 Supersport Championship and landing himself a spot on Honda’s Superbike squad for the 2000 season. After becoming the youngest-ever rider to take the AMA title in 2002, Nicky Hayden then earned himself a seat with Repsol Honda in the MotoGP class. In spite of a slow start during his first two seasons, he quickly turned things around and took third overall in 2005. That next year, Hayden made history, securing his first-ever MotoGP world title and breaking Valentino Rossi’s five-year consecutive streak in the process.

The seller is our new Operations Manager Frank Sindermann, he used to run Xtreme Cyclez. He purchased it from a memorabilia vendor at the MotoGP round at Laguna Seca in 2007.
