Established in 1902, Adler started by producing simple motor bicycles with a De Dion-Bouton clip on engine. The company eventually produced their own engines but ended motorbike production in 1907 in favor of typewriters, bicycles, and cars. After WWII, Adler abandoned cars and in 1949 Adler came back to the motorcycle market with its M100, designed by skillful head engineer Hermann Friedrich, best known for the Adler MB250.
The M100 was produced until 1956 and was powered by a 98cc single-cylinder two-stroke paired with a 3-speed gearbox. The factory claimed it could reach 44mph and it sold well enough for Adler to subsequently release the slightly stronger M125 and M150.
This example is VIN: 36335; Engine: The owner purchased the bike April 2013.
The odometer shows 22,495 kilometers (13,977 miles), however the seller cannot confirm accuracy.
