Please note: The seller is managing the sale of this collection on behalf of the owner’s estate. He has represented each bike to the best of his ability and will be unable to provide further history or supporting documentation. The bike does not currently run and the seller cannot confirm mechanical condition. He has provided a walk around video and is selling the bike as-is. A local dealership will be providing the Bill of Sale; all fees (with the exception of Iconic’s buyer’s fee) and taxes will be accounted for by the dealer.
In the US, Hercules is probably best known as the first company to sell a Wankel-engined bike to the public – the Wankel 2000. The firm started building bikes in 1905 and was sold to ZF Sachs in 1963, eventually becoming part of the Zweirad Union.
In the 1950s the company manufactured a variety of small displacement bikes ranging from 50cc to 250cc powered by Sachs and JLO engines. The 320 was produced from 1953-56 and sported a Sachs 175cc four-speed capable of 10hp and speeds approaching 55mph.
This example is VIN: B114588; Engine: 2038813. The owner purchased the bike April 2013.
The odometer shows 3,563 kilometers (2,213 miles) however, the seller cannot confirm accuracy.
