Description

Please note: The seller is managing the sale of this collection on behalf of the owner’s estate. He has represented each bike to the best of his ability and will be unable to provide further history or supporting documentation. The bike does not currently run and the seller cannot confirm mechanical condition. He has provided a walk around video and is selling the bike as-is. A local dealership will be providing the Bill of Sale; all fees (with the exception of Iconic’s buyer’s fee) and taxes will be accounted for by the dealer.

Additional photos are available here for your perusal.

MV Agusta produced a number of successful, lightweight, eighth-liter, two-stroke models in the post WW2 era; it was in 1954 that the company decided to develop a 125cc four-stroke model to appease a market which had become increasingly interested in performance.

The 4-speed model remained unchanged for a few years until a new version, the 125 GTL (Gran Turismo Lusso), was release in 1964. Updates included a newly designed fuel tank, seat, and mudguards; power was now 9hp at 6,600 rpm.

The 4-speed became a 5-speed in 1966 and the GTL evolved into the GTL-S in 1970. The engine received slight tweaks to now produced 13hp at 8,500 rpm and new clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs provided a much sportier riding position. Other changes included a long fuel tank, bump stop seat, and a separate speedometer and tachometer behind a short wind screen. Weighing 95kg (209lbs), the 125 GTL-S was capable of 74 mph and sold approximately 1,023 units between 1970 and 1973.

This example is VIN: MVGTL660302; Engine: 657141.

The odometer shows 21,967 kilometers (13,649 miles), however the seller cannot confirm accuracy.

Maintenance:
The seller states, “Not running. The bike has been a display piece for many years and not in current running condition. Fuel tank is dry, but has lots of rust. Motor turns over with compression. No battery.”

Modifications:
Per the seller, “It is unknown if there were any modifications that were performed by previous or current ownership.”

Inside of the tank:

It is riding on Michelin and CEAT tires.

The sale includes one key, there is no supporting documentation.

Cosmetic Blemishes: please see the album up top for all known cosmetic blemishes. Here is a selection:
