Description

Please note: This bike has been sitting for one year and does not run. As such, there is no cold start video.

In the 60s, American importer Joe Berliner was bringing in so many Ducatis that he had the ear of the corporate office. So when he started asking for a do-it-all bike aimed towards younger riders, the Italian firm obliged him with the Ducati Scrambler 250, a dual-sport based off the road-based bike which Berliner had converted for dirt track competitions in the US. It eventually made its way to Europe come 1968, and Ducati later licensed production to MotorTrans in Spain for a run in the ’70s.

For the engine, Ducati used a 249cc air-cooled four-stroke single overhead cam. It made some 18 horses, but it was lightweight at 240lbs, and a five-speed transmission allowed it to top out just under 100mph.

This example is VIN: 110021, engine #: 114044. It is one of over thirty motorcycles to come to Iconic Motorbikes from the Alan Wilzig collection.

True mileage unknown. The odometer shows three miles. Please note: We have disconnected the speedometer cable so as not to accrue push miles.
